The MPA Top 100 Mortgage Brokers is open to all mortgage brokers throughout Australia, so to be named in 10th spot in the 2010 rankings is something I am really proud of. For me, the top 10 ranking is an added bonus - my real goal for the year was simply to continue with the provision of outstanding customer service - in other words, to help my customers get the right loan, with a minimum of fuss. The results are based on the total value of loans each mortgage broker has settled (so the money has been signed over to the client!) in the financial year.

Home loan experience

I have over a decade of experience in the finance industry both with major banks and as a mortgage broker, during which time I have developed a reputation with both clients and lenders as a provider of quality service. Over the course of my career I have assisted clients to secure in excess of $250 million, and in late 2006 was nominated for industry body the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia's Excellence Awards in the Broker of the Year category. Despite my successes, my goal is the same as it has always been: to find the right home loan to suit your needs and goals.

First home buyers

Buying your first home is a big step and it is important that you have an experienced mortgage broker to assist you through this process. A good mortgage broker will ensure you find the right home loan and take advantage of all the benefits available to you, including the first home owners grant and any state government grants and concessions you are eligible for.

I have worked with a lot of first home buyers and as such, have a very good understanding of your needs. To ensure the smoothest possible purchase, I will work with you to identify the costs involved in buying your first property, establish how much you can borrow and of course which loan package suits your situation.

Discounted interest rates on larger loans

I have extensive experience with larger loan sizes, so if you are borrowing more than $500,000 then you need to speak with me. I have a good track record of getting a greater discount for you than what you might be able to achieve yourself - even a small additional reduction in your interest rate could potentially save you thousands of dollars in interest charges.

Investment and development finance

Property investment finance can be quite complex, particularly when you have multiple properties in your portfolio. There are different options available depending on whether you are a first time investor, have a broad property portfolio, or wish to use complex financial structures such as trusts. There are also options available if you are an owner-builder or need to finance property development sites.

Home loan pre-approvals

Home loan pre-approval is something you should always get if you can, no matter what your loan size. It will put you in the strongest position to bid at auction or negotiate with a vendor. Home loan pre-approval is offered by most banks and lenders and is usually valid for around three months, and I can easily assist you to get it. If you can, make sure you apply for a written home loan pre-approval with the lender you intend to borrow through, as this will give you the most secure indication of how much you can borrow. Just remember, all home loan pre-approvals will come with some conditions that still need to be met, most importantly that the property you choose meets the lender's criteria.
