First Home Owners Grant Western Australia
If you are buying your first home in Western Australia you may be eligible for the First Home Owners Grant of $7,000.
It’s important that you talk to a mortgage broker who can help determine your eligibility for the grant and any other concessions you may be eligible for.
A cap on the total value of buying or building for which the first home owner grant will be payable applies, the cap limits the total value of properties (i.e. total value of home and land) to $750,000.00 or less, or if the home is located in the township of Kalbarri or north (26th parallel) to $1,000,000 or less.
Under the above criteria, eligible applicants are entitled to a one-off $7,000 grant.

In addition to the First Home Owners’ Grant, Western Australian first home buyers may be eligible for The Home Buyers’ Assistance Account. The account, established and administered by the Real Estate and Business Agents Supervisory Board (REBA), provides a grant of up to $2,000 for the incidental expenses encountered when purchasing an established or partially built home through a licensed real estate agent.
The purchase price of the property must be $400,000 or less to be eligible, and submissions for the grant must be received by REBA within 90 days of contract acceptance. REBA provides a fact sheet on the grant.
