This is an extremely easy meal the whole family will enjoy. You can buy mild flavoured salsa dips (additive free) from the supermarket or spicy chilli jams from quality delis – both are delicious with home made burgers.
650 grams premium minced beef
1 pinch pepper
1 tsp mixed dried herbs
onion finely chopped
600 grams sweet potato, peeled and cut into rough sized wedges
In a large bowl mix the minced beef with the herbs, onion and seasoning.
Mould them into 8 flat patties with your hands and set aside at room temperature.
Preheat the oven to 200C.
Brush the chopped sweet potato with a slight amount of olive oil and season with a light sprinkle of sea salt. Place them in the oven to cook for 20 – 25 minutes.
Heat a grill pan and sear the patties for 3 minutes each side. Place them on the lower shelf in the oven to cook through for a further 12 – 15 minutes.
Serve with a spoon of salsa and steamed greens.
Makes 4 servings
